OIA Outdoors Future Camp - ISPO ACADEMY

Event Cancelled

The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) regrets to announce that the Outdoors Future Camp (OFC) in partnership with ISPO Academy due to take place on 5th and 6th September in Eccleshall, Sheffield has been cancelled.

OIA CEO Andrew Denton said: "Despite an excellent line up of quality guest speakers and workshops, together with initial interest and support from the trade, only a minimum number of bookings have been secured, even with everyone's best efforts to promote the event. We have therefore made the decision to cancel OFC for this year."

Despite this setback, the OIA firmly believes it is still vital for the trade to invest in training outdoor recreation industry leaders of the future. More research and an extensive survey will be conducted to find out how the association can best react to the wishes of its membership.

Delegates who have registered to attend the event will be contacted and issued a full refund.

About the event:

A joint initiative by the OIA and ISPO ACADEMY, the Outdoors Future Camp is a new conference and networking event designed to inform, inspire, challenge and bring together the future leaders of the outdoor recreation industries.

Unlike other annual outdoor industry conferences, the Camp is aimed at younger up and coming outdoor professionals rather than senior management.

If you are a store manager or deputy, a regional retail manager, in brand marketing, sales or product management, a representative, agent or distributor staff, activity centre and hostel staff or instructor, or simply someone wanting to develop a career in the outdoor industries, then this is the event for you.

The two-day camping event will offer a fun and exciting learning and networking opportunity for the next generation of outdoor industry leaders at a very cost effective price. Inspiring keynote speakers, breakout sessions and workshops, team-building and an adventure team challenge are billed for the daytime, while a hog roast and live music will bring a festival atmosphere for all to enjoy in the evening.

Key topics include; understanding the "new outdoor" consumer, merchandising, social media and online strategies, customer services, new media and inspiration in business.
